Partner Yoga :: Preparing for Birth Workshop

Active birth, yoga and helpful tools for labour

2.5 hours

This workshop is for couples to help prepare for labour and birth.  It is open to all trimesters and may be used as a refresher or to inspire you to go onto a more comprehensive antenatal course.

Yolande draws on her experience as a birth doula, active birth and yoga teacher, by sharing practical tips and tools for you and your partner to learn how to prepare for and manage labour by working together as a team. It can be so empowering to learn and understand the birthing body and how movement, birthing positions, breathing and massage can help you both to feel supported, grounded, relaxed and calm.

As couples you will practice:

·      Gentle yoga

·      Active birth principles

·      Breathing for labour and birth

·      Movements and positions for birth

·      Simple massage techniques

·      Yoga Nidra

And we will cover:

·      Natural coping strategies

·      Comfort measures

·      Understanding the birthing body

·      Learning to work together as you might in labour

If you are single or your partner cannot make it, then please bring a family member, friend or your doula.  You will leave this workshop with a handout and a couple of other goodies.

Embracing Change :: Postnatal Retreat

Postnatal_retreat_SQ-300x300.jpg

Embracing Change

7th September 1- 5 pm £65

Join us at The Well Garden for a blissful afternoon retreat honouring motherhood.

Guided by The Born Together Team.

Having a baby can feel overwhelming, however by sharing the joys and challenges with other mums can make a huge difference. This is a chance to release that which no longer serves you and set intentions for embracing this new chapter, confidently and joyously. In this intimate setting we explore all the changes you have been and continue to go through.

The retreat starts with a grounding welcoming and we then transition into a sharing circle guided by Caitlin and hypnotherapist Katrina, followed by movement through yoga with Yolande. To settle into relaxation, doulas and active birth teachers, Sue and Yolande use rebozo shawls , as part of a mini closing bones ceremony to help release and let go of what has been brought up through the day, so that you can settle into a comfortable space for hypno-gong, guided by Katrina and Benita. We end with a closing circle and of course chocolate to leave you feeling grounded and refreshed.

Babies are welcome to join for a feed, we encourage you however to make this time for you as best you can and have bubba looked after nearby.

This retreat is open to all mothers, however old your children may be.
