Active birth, yoga and helpful tools for labour
This workshop is for couples to help prepare for labour and birth. It is open to all trimesters and may be used as a refresher or to inspire you to go onto a more comprehensive antenatal course.
Yolande draws on her experience as a birth doula, active birth and yoga teacher, by sharing practical tips and tools for you and your partner to learn how to prepare for and manage labour by working together as a team. It can be so empowering to learn and understand the birthing body and how movement, birthing positions, breathing and massage can help you both to feel supported, grounded, relaxed and calm.
As couples you will practice:
· Gentle yoga
· Active birth principles
· Breathing for labour and birth
· Movements and positions for birth
· Simple massage techniques
· Yoga Nidra
And we will cover:
· Natural coping strategies
· Comfort measures
· Understanding the birthing body
· Learning to work together as you might in labour
If you are single or your partner cannot make it, then please bring a family member, friend or your doula. You will leave this workshop with a handout and a couple of other goodies.
